Motorola has been releasing a bunch of phones this year but the device many have arguably been waiting for, is a new addition to the Moto X range.

The next Moto phone may be a throwback to 2015.

Meet the oft-rumored, as-yet unreleased Moto X4, depicted by Brazil's telecom regulatory agency in some unflattering real-life snapshots and now rendered for the press once again.

As Android Authority reports, the leaked renders confirm several of the Motorola handset's specs including the 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC and the availability of two different memory/storage configurations.

On the camera front, the Moto X4 is touted to equip a 16MP front-facing selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture that is apparently tailor-made for ultra low-light selfies and 4K video-recording at 30fps or full HD video capture at 60fps.

Moto X4 will feature metal and 3D glass smart dual rear cameras (12MP + 8MP) with dual LED flash placed above the two lenses.

It will be a combination of a 12 MP sensor with dual autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size and an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and 120-degree field of view. In Europe, North America and Latin America, the handset will come with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, while in the Asia Pacific region, the Moto X4 will come with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The Moto X4 will probably be able to get up to the same tricks as the Moto Z2 Force's twin lenses in relation to features like depth of field effects. What do you think of the Moto X4 and do you plan to buy one?

So what does the Moto X4 bring to the (crowded) table? The X4 will be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The smartphone will be backed by a 3000 mAh battery.

Motorola is keen on not only resurrecting the Moto X-series, but also doing so with a bang.
