"This is a scenario that, probably three years ago, I could never have imagined".

However, question marks are being raised as to whether we're coming to an end of an era.

Speaking to Spanish daily El Pais, the 33-year-old said: "Right now, I still haven't signed a new contract".

Long-serving Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta confirms that he is still undecided on whether to renew his contract with the club.

Your thoughts on the above subject matter would be most welcome in our comments facility beneath this article.

Iniesta's Barcelona future could well hinge on whether Philippe Coutinho is brought to the club from Liverpool, although that transfer appears to be growing increasingly unlikely. "I've experienced a lot of sensations I've not known before, but I think they're normal".

The Barcelona board has been under fire of late in the wake of Neymar's departure.

Iniesta has said in the past that he wished to retire at Barcelona and that he would refuse to compete against the club if he were to eventually play for someone else.

"[Madrid] are a great team, with the best players in the world, but I want to say that our challenge is to find what we lost previous year".

Asked whether he needed to be shown more respect by the club in order to commit his future to them, he added: "We all like to be appreciated, valued and respected".

"It should not be lost but sometimes it feels like it is".
