Sky Sports report a deal worth up to £110m has been agreed between the two clubs.

"We are not the sort of club who does our business in public, we can only say that there is no fixed agreement".

The Dembele saga has been a tumultuous one for Dortmund, which included the 20-year-old skipping out on training and the club subsequently suspended the midfielder from all team activities.

Since the departure of Brazilian star Neymar, Barcelona board have been under severe pressure to replace him before the close of the transfer window.

The German side were said to have been holding out for €140m, but if the recent report is to be believed, it will probably be made up in add-ons.

They've been tracking the Frenchman since Paris St-Germain snapped up Neymar in a world-record €222m (£198m) deal earlier this month.

Barcelona have also been frustrated in their attempts to sign Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho who Jurgen Klopp has defiantly declared is not for sale at any price.

Following Barca's 5-1 aggregate thrashing by Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup, the hashtag "bartomeudimiteya" (Bartomeu resign now) was a trending topic worldwide on Twitter.

The French forward only joined Borussia Dortmund from Rennes for £13m last summer.
