Kathy Griffin is done apologizing for the photo of her holding Trump's head. "Yeah, we're still friends, and look I said what I said about - I didn't think what she said was appropriate, but I wish her the best and I hope she bounces back", he told Cohen.

Griffin, who initially stood by her image, later issued an apology, according to Slate.

It's been nearly three months since Kathy Griffin tweeted a photo of herself holding a bloody mask made to look like a beheaded Donald Trump - which resulted in a huge online backlash pushed in part by the POTUS himself on Twitter - and in a new interview with The Cut, Griffin gets candid about what she learned from the entire experience, which included a federal investigation, a public apology and press conference, and plenty of lost jobs, lost friends, and even death threats. "When the president tweeted about me the morning after I released the image, it served as an executive order of sorts to his family and supporters to go after me", she says.

Cooper didn't contact Griffin until August 10, CNN confirmed to me.

Cooper also mentioned that he and Griffin were still friends when making talk-show appearances, but Griffin said the two had not talked since the incident arose.

Griffin is continuing her Laugh Your Head Off tour in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and - yes - plans to keep her Trump jokes intact. Kopelson, whose producing credits include Platoon and The Devil's Advocate, urges her to mail the letter to Trump and release it exclusively to Fox broadcasting, presumably because that's the only outlet Trump watches.

Griffin says she isn't a victim: "I am in a position of privilege, I will be fine", she says. "I was wrong", Griffin said about the shoot. I understand how it offends people.

Griffin also finds the amount of energy spent on "going after" her by the White House absurd.

Griffin is attempting to relaunch her career after being marred by the photo controversy.

'Are you ready for me to say some things that are so disgusting I can never take them back?' she asked in the footage, making reference to her Donald Trump decapitation scandal as well as other jokes that might have gone too far in the past.

But she's not giving up on trying to break Trump in public.
