"I think we participated in a lot of challenges on the Internet, some meaningful, some meaningless, but we've all done them", Hart said in the video.

Kevin Hart and Chris Young have announced their plans to donate money to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts as they ask others to help pledge their support as well.

"In times like these, you turn to your friends to help those in need and that's exactly what I'm doing", the country star says in the clip.

Hart then challenged a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Chris rock, Justin Timberlake, Steve Harvey, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jay Z, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle.

Young said in a Twitter video that he has started an online fundraiser for the Red Cross and donated $100,000 to it.

"I'm calling this the Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge.Lets go", Hart wrote.

Harvey is the strongest hurricane to hit Texas in decades, killing at least two, flooding thousands of homes and causing damage reminiscent to that of Katrina 12 years ago, with FEMA administrator Brock Long telling CNN the agency is "gearing up for the next couple years".

'At this point, it's a serious matter. I'm going to lead the charge by stepping up in this way'.

She also tweeted a link to the Red Cross' donation efforts to more than 100 million followers on Twitter.

Even as emergency teams in Houston, Texas report having saved 2,000 residents from Tropical Storm Harvey, many more are still awaiting rescue with officials estimating at least 30,000 residents will be forced into shelters due to the risky flooding.
