Days after leading an upset win over nationally ranked Texas, Maryland quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Pigrome's first pass attempt against the Longhorns was intercepted and returned for a touchdown, but from that point until his injury on the final play of the third quarter, he was a revelation: 8 of 11 passing for 175 yards and two touchdowns, plus 64 yards and another score on the ground. Hill will have a three-game stretch of Towson/UCF/Minnesota to get his feet wet before a showdown with Ohio State the first weekend in October. Sep.

Pigrome, a sophomore, won the starting job in an intense competition during the summer.

Hill played beyond his years as Maryland pulled away in the fourth quarter, after he was flagged for a delay-of-game penalty that forced his team into a third-and-19 situation. Rushed into action after Pigrome left the field, Hill finished 3 for 3 for 44 yards and ran for 14 yards and a touchdown. It set up a 3-yard touchdown run by Hill.

"There wasn't an ounce of doubt". Moreover, Jesse Aniebonam will also miss the rest of the year. Henderson was limited and wore a boot for the late stages of camp, although Durkin said the North Carolina transfer would be back in the fold soon.

Maryland's biggest victory in several seasons came with a high cost.

Melvin Keihn and Bryce Brand should get a lot more snaps as they're next on the depth chart.

But the injury news didn't stop there.

Maryland hosts FCS school Towson on Saturday.

Cornerback Antwaine Richardson is also day-to-day and now in concussion protocol.
