True freshman running back JK Dobbins, playing in place of an injured Mike Weber, ran 29 times for 181 yards, senior quarterback JT Barrett threw three touchdowns passes and ran for another and wide receiver Parris Campbell caught six balls for 136 yards and one score.

Weber rushed for over 1,000 yards as a redshirt freshman last season but was hampered by a hamstring injury throughout preseason camp.

This week he shared Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors with Penn State running back Saquon Barkley after throwing for 304 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-21 win over in last Thursday. "He's a very accurate passer", Meyer said. "He went full speed today".

When Weber is healthy, Williams will be the team's third-string running back.

He played so well that some seem to think that Dobbins will start over Weber even when Weber is 100 percent.

Instead, he is hearing his accuracy on deep throws questioned again after IN coach Tom Allen said the Hoosiers' defense was built around the idea that Barrett isn't an accurate passer. Running the ball against Oklahoma's defense most likely will be more hard that at Indiana.

The all-Texan quarterback duel of Mayfield (Lake Travis) vs. J.T. Barrett (Wichita Falls Rider) will help establish a Heisman Trophy frontrunner, but there's so much more to this showdown.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield made quick work of the overmatched Miners, tossing just one incompletion among his 20 attempts and finishing with 329 passing yards and three touchdowns. The receptions that were big gainers were of the catch-and-run variety.

Former Buckeyes star Ezekiel Elliott's National Football League suspension was upheld by an arbitrator on Tuesday, which means he will have to serve his six-game ban.

"The accuracy of a quarterback has to do with the timing and relationship he has with the receivers".

"I felt like I was going to do the things I did", he said. And that's what happened.

In his weekly press conference on Monday, Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley acknowledged that Ohio State is one of the best teams in the country and that going to Columbus to play the Buckeyes poses a major challenge for the Sooners.

Alabama was ranked ahead of the Buckeyes in both polls after beating Florida State in its first game. Oklahoma is 11-0 since that loss.

After the loss, Beathard, who's now with the 49ers, said: "I told (the coaches) I couldn't run (but) I told them I wanted to stay in there as much as possible".

Stretching the field and hitting deep passes is a little easier with receivers like Michael Thomas, Devin Smith and Jalin Marshall.

Ferentz defends himself: In a jarring piece published last week by the New York Times, Ed Cunningham disclosed why he gave up his prominent, 20-year gig as a college football analyst for ESPN.

The Sooner head coach couched his praise of the Buckeyes, though, by adding that Oklahoma is a very good team as well and that Ohio State is going to have to play well to beat the Sooners. Meyer said the departure was due to a "school conduct issue".

NOTES: Oklahoma will be without CB Jordan Parker.
