Rami Malek is stunning as Freddie Mercury

Short answer: you don't.

But according to Queen lead guitarist Brian May, Emmy-winning actor Rami Malek is "completely living and breathing Freddie".

The praise is notable, coming from one of Mercury's bandmates.

It's been a long time that we talk about a movie about Freddie Mercury and, in extenso, on the group Queen and elsewhere, the project has failed to do several times.

Entertainment Weekly gave fans a first glimpse of Malek as Mercury earlier in the day.

Singer, who last helmed 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, describes his approach to Bohemian Rhapsody as "not a traditional biopic" but rather a story honoring the music, an angle hinted at by the film's limited time frame. (Fangirl aside: He does look a bit like Mercury). The resemblance - in appearance, but also energy - is frankly uncanny. Mercury would have turned 71 on Tuesday, had he not succumbed to the AIDs virus in 1991.

Bohemian Rhapsody, which is named after Queen's iconic 1975 hit, chronicles the British band from 1970 to 1985.

Malek's got the look and the vibe, but has he got the voice?

Freddie Mercury was known for his incredible four-octave range, a skill few can claim.

It was also confirmed that a sound alike will also fill in the gaps between Rami's singing and that of Freddie's. Malek told the publication, "I'm in Abbey Road [Studios] right now if that should say anything to you".

An actor, moreover, totally invested in his role since he is now in the famous studios at Abbey Road to work on the musical passages of the story, which mixeront his voice and that of the singer for more authenticity.

The film is now scheduled for release on Christmas Day, 2018.
