CM Punjab hails team's win as 'conquest of moderate, tolerant Pakistan'

He said that the victory in Independence Cup is the conquest of moderate and tolerant Pakistan and, irrespective of win or defeat, it is the peaceful Pakistan that won in the end.

The students thanked the chief minister and the Punjab government, and said they got the chance to learn Turkish language due to personal interest of the chief minister.

Shahbaz Sharif said all Pakistani students in Turkey are ambassador of Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab chief minister said the people of Pakistan and Turkey share a similar approach to worldwide affairs, adding that Turkey has a top-most position in Pakistan's foreign policy.


He said that Pakistan has rendered enormous sacrifices in the war against terrorism and no country has a right to criticise Pakistan in this regard.

He advised Pakistani students to learn Turkish language with dedication as hard work is a key to success.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government is starting Motorbike Ambulance service in nine cities of the province in collaboration with the Turkish health ministry.

Pakistani Consulate in Turkey Dr Yusuf Junaid said that best possible facilities had been provided to students learning Turkish and these facilities would also be provided in future as well. Currently, 30 Pak students are studying at the University of Istanbul on scholarship.

Shahbaz Sharif also visited Fatah Sultan Muhammad Hospital in Istanbul.
