In the latest issue of V-Jump, the magazine revealed that the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ will be getting three new characters; Tien, Android 21 and Yamcha. In addition to Yamcha and Tien, a new original character named Android 21 will be featured in the game, though it's unclear whether or not she'll be a playable character. With that said, what is known is that she will play a major role thanks to her Dr. Gero-like intellect in the "What If" story mode surrounding Android 16. She is a scientist, although no other information about her was provided. This role as an Assist Character seemingly confirms that the clown-like hero will not be featured as playable in FighterZ, which many may view as a missed opportunity given the unique moveset and minute stature possessed by the fighter. Yamcha comes complete with his Wolf Fang Fist and Spirit Ball, while Tien has the Dodon Ray (which Toriyama seemed to forget Tien had), Volleyball Attack, and gets some assists from Chiaotzu's telekinetic powers.

In more news, the closed beta has officially begun on Saturday, September 16 and will end on Sunday, September 17.

The Playstation 4 players who were selected to take place in the beta after the registration period that occurred last month will receive a download code in their emails. Players can boot it up on a prescribed three- hour schedule. The biggest gaming convention in Asia will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from September 21 to September 24. The title doesn't have a solid release date within the United States, but is slated to arrive in Europe in February.
