Producer Dil Raju, director Dasaradh have been named in the case.

The DC report adds that the Madhapur police registered a case against the distributor of the film, Dil Raju, producer, co-producers Sirish and Lakshman, director K Dasarath and dialogue writer Abburi Ravi.

The producer Dil Raju has been accused by a novelist of plagiarising her story and making a movie out of it.

Writer Shyamala Rani has said that she had published a book titled Na Manasu Ninnu Kore in 2010. "While I was watching "Mr Perfect" in 2013 on television, I found several dialogues and scenes were copied from my novel", she said, according to a report in Times Of India. She moved to Miyapur court and accused the filmmakers of cheating. "Following court's order, we booked a cheating case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Copy Rights Act and are investigating", Telangana Today quoted Madhapur police Inspector R Kalinga Rao as saying.

Rani claimed the producers didn't take her permission for using her story.

Kajal Aggarwal and Taapsee Pannu played the lead roles opposite Prabhas in the movie.

It is indeed a big deal to drag Dil Raju into a legal battle, who is an influential producer in Tollywood and has a number of hits under his belt. What is surprising is six years after the film's release, the novelist has come forward to file the complaint. Currently, he is bankrolling Ravi Teja's upcoming Raja The Great and also obtained the theatrical rights of the most anticipated Telegu films including Jai Lava Kusa, Spyder and Superstar Pawan Kalyan's PSPK 25.
