Jacoby Brissett Gets Start At Quarterback For Colts

Worse, they lost superstar running back David Johnson for at least 2-to-3 months with a dislocated left wrist.

Colts fans let's get one thing straight... this could be a very long season. With the return of Luck apparently nowhere in sight, just how bad can things get for Indianapolis?

Since 2006, only 10 teams have started 0-2 and made the playoffs, most recently the Carolina Panthers in 2013.

Both teams and the Miami Dolphins, who play at the Los Angeles Chargers, wore "ONE FLORIDA" decals on their helmets.

Multiple Cardinals have called it a must-win.

"It's good to be able to focus on one so you don't have to worry about anything else", he said, "just focus on that, that footwork, what to do".

Add two more starters to the Colts' list of walking wounded this week. However, it has problems of its own. More importantly, Carson Palmer and the Cardinals' offense are in a panic to find anyone that can remotely do what Johnson does for their offense.

Gresham is also not a surprise. Brissett, formerly of the New England Patriots, saw a bit of playing time in the blowout loss to Los Angeles with the Colts newcomer throwing for 51 yards on two out of three completed passes.

"You have to make some adjustments", offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski said. The Colts traveled to University of Phoenix Stadium in 2013, with the two head coaches sharing a warm embrace at midfield before the game. Kerwynn Williams is taking over as the feature back in Arizona; Williams has averaged 5.4 yards per attempt in his limited 103 career rushes, and will now get his chance to step up in Johnson's absence.

Without Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis in the lineup and any frontline pressure to speak of, the still risky Larry Fitzgerald and the rest of the Cards' offense is poised to have a field day against a struggling and tired Colts defensive unit that allowed Jared Goff to have the best game of his career a week ago.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Jacoby Brissett is expected to start at quarterback for the Colts when they host the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.

"I don't feel great about it but those guys have played a lot of football", Arians said.

Arizona does have a stout defense, so this could be a rough day for Brissett. (The Cardinals are) going to catch some and make some plays. Chandler (Jones) doesn't have to get every sack.

"We understand it's the National Football League", safety Tyrann Mathieu said. Is it a long-term injury, will he be available at all this season, are they doing anything to bring him back sooner? Brissett didn't get much action with the game out of hand and in the fourth quarter, but the offense never looked more alive. We've only seen three games with a higher closing total over the past three years.

Brissett may not know the entire offense, but he knows more than enough to be functional.
