Winter told THR that she was prepared to go to foster care, until, in 2012, her older sister Shanelle Gray agreed to take her in - despite barely knowing each other.

After media outlets talked about what could have been, Ariel posted a three page note on Instagram defending herself, her choices and that wardrobe malfunctions happen - especially to people who are stalked by paparazzi.

Crystal told Inside Edition: "I just want to see her have respect for herself and have some class".

Workman said: 'I feel that Ariel is starving for attention. While she did not have the best childhood, she said she was still grateful as her painful experiences in the past helped shape her into the person she is today.

Despite her criticism, Workman feels that her troubled relationship with her daughter needs to be repaired. 'Every girl needs her mom and every mom needs her daughter.

The 19-year-old actress and her mother haven't spoken for the past five years, with Ariel taking Crystal to court when she was just 14 years old, claiming she had been emotionally and physically abused.

In May 2015, the actress won emancipation from her mother amid allegations of physical and emotional abuse.

In a three-page-long note, Winter wrote that she has been "slut-shamed" in response to a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in which she opened up about her hard childhood. "I was a CHILD being dressed like I was 24".

"I'm not trying to show you my ass in shorts when I go to the grocery store", she continued.

On Tuesday, Winter defended her wardrobe choices and fired back at people who accused the actress of blaming her scandalous outfits on her mother. "I don't know what to wear every day so I look "appropriate" or 'fashionable.' Also, screw having to always look appropriate or fashionable. For what? Society? Who gets to decide what is appropriate or fashionable????" wrote Winter. As you mature at 16, 17, 18 you further develop your own identity and can make decisions for yourself. Just a week after an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where she addressed how often she is bodyshamed, Ariel took to Instagram to vent to her followers when everything she said had been reduced to a few lines in the interview.

While Winter earns a reported $100,000 per episode, Workman revealed that she's been struggling financially.

In closing, she dispelled stereotypes about attractive people being "unintelligent" and/or "talentless", assuring followers that she has self-respect. "We need to move on from this stigma that women who are comfortable with their bodies and their sexuality are 'dumb sluts'".
