Inter Milan reveal why they rejected Manchester United's offer for Perisic

The Croatian has been the subject of speculation surrounding a move to Manchester United over the summer, but Inter held firm when the offers came in and when the transfer deadline passed, they tied the global down to a new five-year deal.

The Croatia worldwide was reportedly the subject of a number of bids from Old Trafford during the transfer window, but Inter held firm and tied Perisic to a new five-year contract after the deadline passed.

"Perisic still had a few years on his contract", he told Mediaset Premium.

The interest from United prompted Inter to hand the former Wolfsburg man a new three-year deal, and having started the season in fine form with three goals and three assists from five games, it's unlikely Inter will allow him to leave on the cheap.

Despite reports that Perisic was open to moving to Old Trafford, Ausilio has claimed that there were no demands from his camp to have a release clause in place.

"The new contract was a effect of that and only right".

The Nerazzurri lead Serie A going into Wednesday's midweek round of matches, with a 1-1 draw at Bologna on Tuesday night edging them a point clear of Juventus and Napoli, who are both in action on Wednesday.

Let's see how all this work with the "mister" will be considered next summer, when other clubs, and perhaps Jose Mourinho again, may come for the player. "Before spending money elsewhere, we try to get the best out of the players we already have here".
