While it may be a coincidence, Jay-Z has been a supporter of Colin Kaepernick and gave him a shoutout during a recent concert.

If more African Americans of stature follow Jay's lead and boycott the Super Bowl halftime show, well, that's when all the beer runs will go down for those who still care to watch.

On the front end or the back end of the Super Bowl halftime performance, the National Football League clearly sees a money-making opportunity to try to exploit. It earlier was reported that LII might feature both Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, but nothing has come of that.

"No decisions have been made on the performer [s] and we are not going to speculate on particular artists", NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Pro Football Talk in an email. "Along with Pepsi, we know that we will put on a spectacular show".

The NFL did not directly dispute the report that Jay Z passed on the gig. When it is time to announce her name we will do it.

Last year, we learned that Adele declined the league's offer in August, and the first report signalling that Lady Gaga would be the halftime entertainment surfaced on September 18th.

The rap mogul turned down the coveted halftime spot for next year's Super Bowl, which boasts past shows from the likes of Missy Elliot, Janet Jackson and his wife Beyoncé.
