The City Blues are on a four game winning run, scoring 17 goals in the process.

Manchester United will travel to fellow Premier League side Swansea City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

But West Brom were resilient, and scored a deserved equaliser when Claudio Yacob side-footed a volley from a corner past Claudio Bravo to put the teams back on level terms.

The Midlands club have gone three games without a win against Stoke City, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United, scoring just two goals for their troubles.

However, it wasn't meant to be as the Baggies missed a number of chances in an improved second half display to go home empty handed.

The Baggies went into the clash with the Citizens having scored just twice in their previous three games, and having only scored a couple of times on one occasion so far - the 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley in a previous round of the same competition.

The top clubs also tend to field second-string sides packed with players chomping at the bit to impress when their opportunities in the league are limited.

The matches for the round are scheduled for the 24th and 25th of October.

The midfielder could make his first start of the season in the all-Premier League tie having so far only featured off the bench in the 4-0 destruction of Feyenoord in the Champions League.

Manchester City booked their place in the next phase after securing a hard fought 2-1 win at West Brom tonight and Pep Guardiola will now welcome Wolves to the Etihad in the fourth round.

The last time, "West Brom" defeated "Manchester City" seven years ago.
