Bengaluru: Kidnapped Son of IT Officer Found Dead Near Rachenahalli Lake

Sharath reportedly told his parents that the kidnappers looked like terrorists and could also harm his sister. Anxious parents of the automobile engineering student then got anxious and called him up but Sharath did not answer any of the calls. Sharath was pursuing a Diploma course in automobile engineering at Acharya Institute of Engineering in the city.

On September 12, Sharath had take his new motorcycle for a ride.

Two days later, Sarath's parents received a video on WhatsApp in which he asked them to meet the ransom demand of his abductors. But later in the day he sent a WhatsApp message to his parents from his mobile phone saying that he had been kidnapped. They want 50 lakhs it seems.

According to the report in Bangalore Mirror, the case had been transferred to Central Crime Branch (CCB) who were also probing the angle that Sharath has voluntarily gone away with his friends. Sharath was killed after kidnappers came to know that his father filed a complaint with the police and then dumped his body near Rachenahalli lake. The victim's vehicle was parked near the spot, police said, adding, fearing action by them the abductors killed him. They thought of throwing the body in the lake but were scared that they would be apprehended if the body was found floating.

Sharath's body was found buried near the Ramohalli lake on Friday morning.
