Bethesda Plans to Develop More Games for the Switch

After reading through some of the questions and reactions to our video showing Doom in action on Nintendo's hybrid portable, I went back to Bethesda to see what else they could tell me.

Even if The Evil Within 2 doesn't make its way to the Nintendo Switch, perhaps the next game in the series - if it comes to pass, that is - will be built with the platform in mind. "Breath of the Wild being the runaway colossal hit that it is, there's certainly some belief like, 'Hey, if you like open-world RPGs where you can explore and do what you want, Skyrim might be a good fit for you'".

You should know that DOOM for Switch is a tailor-made version for the Nintendo console. "We're excited. They both have their place in what's going on with that platform".

Our friend at DigitalFoundry recently got their hands on DOOM for Nintendo Switch (undocked mode) and Nintendo put just one condition in front of them - they will post their impression online only at a specific date and time - EMBARGO.

Our comrade in Kinja-usingness (and blood), The A.V. Club, noted that the game's visuals aren't quite what they used to be, but it still feels good. "We've been thrilled with the feedback that Doom is among the very best looking and performing games on Switch".

Thanks to its willingness to support different kinds of games, Nintendo is making its new console more attractive to a wider range of players. There they discovered that the port of DOOM, with the responsibility of Panic Button, runs at a constant 30 frame per second.

One of the most astounding facts is that the Nintendo Switch is simply doing far great than that the Nintendo team might have expected themselves it seems. We're obviously excited about these two games, but it's not as if we're going to just do these two games and that's it.

What's more, Fils-Aime said he believes Nintendo has been delivering on what the fans want, just not as quickly as they may like.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 17th, with DOOM set for release in Holiday 2017.
