Nile shines again in Australia ODI

After the ground was under covers for the most part of the week and the forecast was for a thunderstorm on Thursday, it looked like another truncated game was on the cards but to everyone's surprise, there was bright sunshine and the lack of humidity put the Australians in a spot of bother with their pace bowlers and Matthew Wade pulled out numerous times during the game, unable to tackle the heat.

Kohli, never to take a backward step retaliated by scoring 92 runs in extreme hot and humid conditions was seen replying to Wade. Yadav took the wickets of Matthew Wade, Ashton Agar and Pat Cummins. He dismissed both openers David Warner and Hilton Cartwright.

Australia captain Steve Smith did not dwell on the Kohli incident after the match, preferring to point out his side's failings with the bat.

Wicketkeeper Wade appeared to hurt his arm after fumbling a Marcus Stoinis delivery during India's second one-day worldwide win in Kolkata yesterday.

'We've had a lot of collapses and we need to stop, ' Smith, who has scored one and 59 in the two games, said. "I might go to the dressing rooms and have a good cry like you". Batsmen made poor decisions under pressure.

India are the mace-holders in Tests, and now, they are almost No. 1 in ODIs - almost because they level with South Africa at 119 points. The wicket wasn't that easy to bat on, all the batsmen felt that.

Team India registered a 50-run win over the Steve Smith-led Australia and thus took a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. We knew if we had a good start, we had a chance. "I think it speaks volume about their character", said Kohli. "We have not only Hardik (Pandya) as an all rounder, now we have a couple of spinning allrounders as well in (Ravindra) Jadeja and Axar (Patel). So we have lot of options, plus we have all our bases covered at the moment", he said. I always try to create motivation for myself, I don't like to differentiate at any stage, I knew I had to stay longer because the wicket was tricky.

"It came off today, so it looked nice".
