Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address party workers at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive Meet that will begin around 10AM in New Delhi. The "extended executive" meeting is being attended by almost 1,400 MLAs, 337 MPs, all MLCs and group leaders from states.

The meeting will start with Shah's inaugural speech and, after deliberations on various issues, will conclude with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address. The executive meet is likely to discuss the Rohingya crisis.

The National Executive, which is being held on the 100th birth anniversary of party ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya, will see participation from more members due to BJP's growing political footprint in various states. During the PM's address, he is expected to discuss the falling GDP and economy slowdown, and highlight the successes in boosting transparency and curbing black money, party sources said. Shah also attacked the TMC government in West Bengal and the Left government in Kerala for alleged political violence targeting BJP workers, Goyal said.

Earlier on Sunday, party president Amit Shah inaugurated the 2-day BJP National Executive Meet following which he held meeting with office-bearers, state chiefs, core group leaders to mark the objectives of the meet.

■ During the office bearers' meeting yesterday, Shah reviewed the performance of the party's expansion drive in the last one year. "The government is relentlessly working in the interests of the poor". He said, the meeting also resolved to carry on the pledge of Swachh Bharat and New India.

While listing the government's initiatives, including its key schemes, the resolution could also assert that the economy has been in a better position under the NDA than it was under the Congress-led UPA governments. Sources in the BJP said party Vice President Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and General Secretary Ram Madhav were assigned to prepare the resolutions.
