German worldwide to run his contract down which means he will be a free agent next summer Arsenal contract rebel Mezut Ozil is hoping for a shock move to Manchester United. The German global is keen on joining the Red Devils according to the report. Robin van Persie left Arsenal for Manchester United five years ago in a £25million deal and ended up with a title winners medal in his first season.+ Ozil would love to take the same route with a similar outcome.

In case you didn't know.

Ozil has now moved into the final year of his deal at the Gunners, however there was little speculation of him moving elsewhere during the summer transfer window, unlike team-mate Alexis Sanchez. Ozil revealed in his autobiography how Jose convinced him to move to Bernabeu in 2010.

'Real Madrid isn't too big a move for you.

And the story could be merely to encourage Arsenal to finally offer the former Schalke and Real Madrid star what he considers to be the right money.

Among those hoping to see better from the midfielder is Ian Wright, who has spoken to BBC Radio 5 Live about the German, saying: "He is easily for me the best technical player at Arsenal, you just don't see it enough".

His advisors have already started talks with Manchester United according to the report and the Red Devils are also interested in him.
