Panasonic launches P99 with Android Nougat, 8MP camera

Panasonic India launches a new entry-level smartphone Panasonic P99. The 4G VoLTE supported smartphone is priced at Rs. 7,490 and is available from Panasonic brand shops and other retail outlets across the country. The device is available in champagne gold, black and blue colour variants. It is powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core processor, which is clubbed with 2GB of RAM.

Speaking about the specifications of the smartphone, the Panasonic P99 flaunts a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels.

At the front area, the handset sports a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies, and also comes with support for different camera modes such as beauty, Burst shot, HDR, Watermark.

On the back panel, the Panasonic P99 offers an 8 MP camera with LED flash and features Beauty, Burst shot, Night, Professional, Watermark, HDR, and Panorama modes.

The Panasonic P99 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM). The device also supports USB OTG, which means one can connect dongles and pen drives with a help of a OTG connector. The handset offers 16GB of internal memory space with an option to expand via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The P99 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, but there is no public information on the Oreo update for the phone. It measures 144.76 x 71.80 x 8.60 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 145.00 grams. For connectivity, this phone offers options of 4G VoLTE, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Hotspot & Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB 2.0 and Global Positioning System. "The new device is equipped with upgraded version of Android 7.0 Nougat so that you can multitask and are connected to the world", said Pankaj Rana, Business Head - Mobility Division, Panasonic India.
