As the Overwatch League Roster for competitive esports has been announced courtesy of Shaquille O'Neal, one surprising twist occurred that had nothing to do with team picks.

Jennifer Lopez is just one of many A-list celebrities who have shown interest in the growing esports industry, and we'd expect nothing less from Jenny from the block.

Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch reportedly joins retired professional athletes Alex Rodriguez, Michael Strahan, and Marlon Byrd-as well as well-known singer and actress Jennifer Lopez-in NRG's latest $50 million Series B financing round, according to an ESPN report. According to ESPN, the report details a $15 million investment from celebrities including National Football League star Marshawn Lynch, Good Morning America's Michael Strahan and, surprisingly, Jennifer Lopez. David "nomy" Ramirez and Matthew "super" DeLisi will tank for the team, Nikola "sleepy" Andrews and Daniel "dhaK" Paz will play support, while Dante "Danteh" Cruz, André "iddqd" Dahlström, Andrej "babybay" Francisty, and Jay "sinatraa" Won will handle DPS duties.

While San Francisco's professional Overwatch team looks impressive, they will still have their work cut out for them once the first season begins on January 10th, 2018.

NRG recently announced its involvement in the upcoming Overwatch League, and now it has revealed the eight player roster. At the time of this writing, there are a total of 12 teams looking to compete in Overwatch on a professional level, and all of them feature some of the most talented Overwatch players in the world.

Overwatch's main pro pre-season is set to begin on December 6.
