Whether or not the narrative of the original anthem protest was lost or not, everyone had an opinion about whether players should be kneeling or not, regardless of why they were doing it.

This is what he was talking about.

Just before the Baltimore Ravens took on the hated division rival Pittsburgh Steelers, there was a call from the stadium announcer for a prayer for equality and justice throughout the nation. Ravens fans booed their own team for kneeling during the pre-anthem prayer. The Ravens reportedly knelt for a prayer before the anthem, but fans weren't going to stand for that. They would rise for the national anthem in what looks to be a compromise with the fans' biggest complaints.

All teams stood for the anthem.

Trump has not relented, tweeting Saturday that it's "Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our Flag and our Country!"

Last week, New England heartily booed the Patriots before and after the anthem, as much of the team took a knee.

Some fans even mentioned online that they would stand for the national anthem and then immediately leave, but it seems those might have been idle threats considering this image right at kickoff.
