They aren't anywhere near finished installing their system and have done no work on their half-court offense.

The Lakers are set to play the Nuggets on Monday.

Ball, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, finished with 5 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds in the 108-99 loss to Minnesota. Following the game, Walton voiced much praise toward the Lakers' rookie guard's presence on the floor and passing ability, but felt that he could have been more aggressive with looking for his own shot at times.

Not anymore. Lonzo and the Lakers sold out Summer League games in Las Vegas in July, and they sold out a preseason game against Minnesota in Anaheim. We knew that already, but Saturday's game offered another reminder of that.

Magic Johnson sat courtside and signed autographs, front and smiling center among a sellout crowd of 18,000 at Honda Center. When asked if there was a mixtape or a record on the way, the National Basketball Association rookie said, "Yeah, so we actually set up a label and there's definitely stuff coming in the near future".

"To me it feels right", Lakers coach Luke Walton said. I was shocked a year ago. I was a little shocked past year (when the building was about half full) because when I played it was always playing with Kobe so we had crowds like this everywhere we went in preseason.

Walton added, "I was shocked previous year". With the average age of the team being just above 25 years old, they have young players who can turn into big-time players. "So it felt right, it felt normal to go out there and have that type of energy in the crowd". He can shoot. He fights for plays.

"Taj Gibson got me at the rim a couple of times", Kuzma said.

"Kuzma was just Kuzma again", Walton said. In college, these two players collided twice with Lonzo winning the first matchup in Lexington leading the UCLA Bruins to a 97-92 victory ending Kentucky's 42 game home winning streak and their number one ranking in the country. The Lakers will hold practice on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.in El Segundo.

Midway through the frame, Kuzma made four consecutive shots in a 91-second span, as the Timberwolves couldn't stop him from hitting a step-back jumper, floating bank shot and pair of driving hooks.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr., right, fights to keep the rebound from Minnesota forward Shabazz Muhammad in Anaheim on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

"We've got to get in much better shape for the way we want to play", Walton shared his thoughts from the preseason opener. "I can't really talk about the upcoming stuff, but more is to come".
