Pence dodges on Trump's 'calm before the storm' remark

Almost two days have passed since President Donald Trump ominously suggested, while standing with military leaders, that this could be "the calm before the storm".

That got a laugh from the crowd of Hispanic leaders gathered in the East Room of the White House, and Trump' s other statements of support for the recovering U.S. territories drew cheers.

Reports of Rex Tillerson resigning, calling President Trump a moron deemed false.

A few words from US President Donald Trump last week stripped away any expectation that holders of Puerto Rico's general obligation bonds would still see a recovery of 50 cents or more on the dollar.

His answer? "You'll find out". It took Trump almost two weeks to visit the island, and during his visit, he inspired an angry storm of tweets when he tossed paper towels at the Latinx people who'd just lost everything. Friday, Oct. 6, the Cheeto-in-Chief was hosting a salutation at the White House for Hispanic Heritage Month.

The president then suggested the gathering could be "the calm before the storm". "I know that government bureaucracy is slow, but I am depending on you to overcome the obstacles of bureaucracy", he said during their cabinet room meeting.


Trump responded to Friday's question by saying, "Thank you very much", before smiling and winking.

Commenting on a Trump statement that the United States might withdraw from a nuclear deal with Iran, Peskov said such a move would have "negative consequences".

"We're not going to announce what actions we'll be taking until that moment comes", she said.

"They owe a lot of money to your friends on Wall Street, and we're going to have to wipe that out", Trump said.

Speaking in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying reiterated a call for all parties involved with the standoff in North Korea to exercise restraint, describing the situation as extremely complex and serious.

He replied simply: "You'll find out". How seriously should the American adversaries take these comments?
