Actors James Van Der Beek and Terry Crews recently tweeted about experiencing sexual assault by powerful men in Hollywood, offering their support to the women who complained about film producer Harvey Weinstein. What he's admitted to is unacceptable - in any industry.

Van Der Beek and Crews said they understood why victims often don't come forward.

"I understand the unwarranted shame, powerlessness & inability to blow the whistle", he wrote. "Because this kind of thing happened to ME", Crews wrote, then went on to describe how, at an industry function in 2016, a male executive groped his genitals in front of his wife.

"My wife n I were at a Hollywood function previous year n a high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates", posted Crews, who achieved fame on "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine".

Crews said he chose not to retaliate for fear that the incident would be twisted by the media. "Jumping back I said, 'What are you doing?!' My wife saw everything [and] we looked at him like he was insane". "Older men and powerful, I have caught the buttocks". My wife saw everything n we looked at him like he was insane. "He just grinned like a jerk", Terry added.

Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevigne are among those who have come forward with allegations. The paper also reported that Weinstein reached private settlements with eight women, including actress Rose McGowan. Actresses Mira Sorvino and Rosanna Arquette also claimed that after rejecting Weinstein's unwanted advances, they were removed from or kept from being hired for projects.

Weinstein has strongly denied rape allegations and said many other accusations against him are inaccurate.
