Porsche launches subscription vehicle hire program

The 911 was distinguished with the "Highest Ranked Appeal" award in the "Midsize Premium Sporty Car" category.

The month-to-month subscription programme will be introduced in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers its members frequent vehicle exchanges, unrestricted mileage, and on-demand access for up to 22 different Porsche models.

Porsche Passport provides white-glove vehicle delivery in metro Atlanta through two membership plans - "Launch" and "Accelerate".

Porsche Passport is now being rolled out in Atlanta - Porsche's U.S. base - but if it works it will spread across the States and, no doubt, to Europe too. "Catering to customers' desire to experience our sports cars in new ways is a part of our core strategy", said President and CEO Klaus Zellmer of PCNA. The first comes with a monthly fee of $2,000 and allows one to choose between eight versions of the 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, Macan and Cayenne. Through this plan, drivers gain access to 22 models, including popular cars like the 911 Carrera S, Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUV, and the Macan GTS.

Users have to sign up via the Porsche Passport app developed by Clutch Technologies, which is available on Apple and Android devices.

The $2K-or-$3K fee includes running costs and charges such as vehicle tax and registration, insurance, and maintenance, as well as detailing.

Once approved, members will need to pay a one-time activation fee of US$500 as well as a monthly fee. After the pilot programme, both Porsche and Clutch Technologies will determine whether or not to expand Porsche Passport to further locations in North America and potentially in Europe.

The Passport subscription program is part of Porsche's vision to give customers the flexibility of the subscription model while allowing them to fulfill their aspirations to drive sports cars. There are no such things, so, just like those millennials who want to steer clear of owning a auto, this program might determine certain Porschephiles to enjoy the crest without the ownership frame.
