The Italian has enjoyed plenty of success since taking over at the Blues at the beginning of last season, leading the team to the English Premier League title at the first time of asking.

Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has struggled to match expectations at the San Siro since their significant summer spend - his side are only seventh in Serie A.

Speculation about his future has been reignited by a recent interview in which former Juventus boss Conte reiterated that he plans to return to Italy at some stage.

There has been talk that Chelsea manager Conte could look for a move back to his native Italy, with Milan - who spent big in the transfer window and have lost three of seven Serie A matches - a potential suitor.

"We tried to bring Belotti to Milan", Mirabelli told Radio Rossonera.

In more damaging news for Chelsea, Mirabelli did admit that Milan were eyeing up a target of theirs. "It was quite hard for a variety of reasons, but he's a player who is a Milan fan and maybe one day he will get to wear the colours he has dreamed about since he was a child".

Conte also hit back at reports he could leave Stamford Bridge for family reasons.

Belotti, 23, has a clause in his contract which would allow him to join any club overseas for €100 million. Maybe he will join one day, ' he added.

Antonio Conte is preparing his Chelsea squad for their trip to Crystal Palace this weekend.
