But Swinney confirmed to Tommy Deas of the Tuscaloosa news that he will be headed to Alabama on Saturday as the school honors its 1992 national title-winning team.

Why does Clemson keep invading Tide territory?

Crimson Tide fans will likely experience mixed emotions when Swinney is announced.

The Crimson Tide will be commemorating 25 years since their title under Gene Stallings, and Swinney - a walk-on receiver who caught four passes for 48 yards on that squad - will be there to join the excitement. He almost beat them in their first national title matchup in 2016, though Alabama prevailed 45-40.

Tide fans are certainly proud to call Swinney their own, but he is also responsible for a night that many would like to forget.

According to multiple reports including the Tuscaloosa News, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is now scheduled to attend as well as Clemson coaches Woody McCorvey, Danny Pearman, Lemanski Hall, and director of recruiting and external affairs Thad Turnipseed.

Kickoff for Alabama's game against Arkansas is set for 7:15 pm EST on ESPN.
