Caliyah McNabb was reported missing from Newton County on Saturday. Her parents told police that she was fine when they fed and changed her at 5 a.m.

Channel 2's Nicole Carr was in the courtroom for Christopher McNabb's hearing, which was only three minutes long. He was found four hours later near an convenience store and was initially charged with a probation violation.

Christopher McNabb, 27, was charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery and concealing the death of his 15-day-old baby Caliyah after she was found in the woods behind Eagle Point Trailer Park on Sunday.

"A 15-day-old child obviously didn't leave by themselves", Crum said.

McNabb then tried to hide the body with a t-shirt, blanket and a draw-string bag in the woods not far from the residence where the death took place, the warrants allege.

In the call, Cortney Bell said she was up much of the night with the infant before she accidentally fell asleep on the couch.

Now her grandfather says he and his family are looking for answers.

Police went looking for McNabb Sunday evening, as according to Crum, McNabb was in his girlfriend's vehicle when he found out that his daughter's body had been found. I didn't do it!' " Crum said.

McNabb was born premature on September 23, weighing in at just 5 lbs., wrapped inside a blue cloth underneath a log about a quarter of a mile from her home, Newton County Sheriff's Capt. Keith Crum said on Sunday.

Hannah added, "He went on and on and on just rambling 'I didn't do it".

The clerk called 911 and McNabb was taken into custody without incident.

The infant's mother was questioned by police and released, WGCL reported. PEOPLE's calls to Bell were not immediately returned.
