The gunshots were heard in the Tral forest area of Pulwama district of South Kashmir.

The minister had escaped unhurt in the attack.

During sustained questioning, he admitted that he hurled the grenade on the instructions of JeM commander Mufti Vikas resident of PAK and Noor Mohammad Tantray resident of Darganie Gund Tral.

He said Gulzar was earlier active with Jaish in 2014.

Dar and his aides had lobbed a grenade on the motorcade of Akhtar at Tral bus stand on September 21. "He was arrested and released after two years in January 2017", the spokesman said.
