Now, the company has given us a brand new gameplay trailer that shows off some of what we can expect when the game launches next year.

Hunt: Showdown has been in development for years, and has undergone quite a few changes since its original incarnation was shown at E3 2014.

In Hunt: Showdown, you are a bounty hunter sent to the Louisiana swampland to take out terrifying monsters. Hunt: Showdown mixes player-versus-player gameplay with the intensity of hunting targets in a player-versus-environment. Crytek said each match can have up to five teams of two players. It's there right now, in fact-you can't actually buy it yet, but you can have a look around. I think Early Access for our game is the best thing that could ever happen.

Hunt: Showdown is the upcoming multiplayer survival horror game from Crytek that appears to finally see the light of day, despite it's slow and uncertain development process. The developers plan on keeping the game in Early Access for at least 12 months, but may either lengthen or shorten its time there depending on player feedback.

If you don't already know, Hunt: Showdown is a PvP and PvE game where your character is a hunter of various supernatural monsters. The one-square kilometer map will include "hoards of gruesome monsters for you to fight on your way to even more savage bosses".

Hunt: Showdown hitting Early Access is hardly shocking, given how successful the strategy has been for other recent multiplayer survival titles like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Fortnite, and Conan Exiles. Full hardware specs weren't available, but the studio did state on the Steam page that you will need the 64-bit version of Windows 10 to run the game.
