Multiple shootings reportedly strike town in Sweden

Police first responded to reports of a shooting at a market in Trelleborg, in the Ehrenbuschsgatan area. "There are several people who have experienced confirmed gunshot wounds", a statement issued by Police Skåne read.

At least four men were confirmed injured after gunshots rang out late Thursday night in a busy market here in Sweden's southern town, reports from worldwide media outlets indicated.

Multiple shootings at different locations broken out in the center of a town on the southern coast of Sweden on Thursday night, and police were reporting several people injured.

At least four people have been taken to hospital and several others have been injured in the attack. A major policing initiative has begun.

"Forensics and gun dogs have been ordered to the site".

A police spokesman said: "We have received several reports of a shooting in Trelleborg".

Witnesses reportedly said they heard a "loud bang" in the area.

"We are blocking certain areas and will conduct an investigation".

The condition of the victims is unknown.
