She had been sent outside at 3 punishment for not drinking her milk.

The parents of a missing Texas girl have stopped cooperating with police, according to Fox News. Attorney Kent Starr told reporters the parents have two attorneys to avoid any potential conflict of interest.

According to her, Wesley works in the IT and the family has taken off their social media profiles after Sherin went missing. An Amber Alert was issued and then later canceled due to lack of new information, for the girl, identified as Sherin Williams.

Her father told police that he had seen coyotes in the alley directly across from their home, but investigators haven't found any evidence that one might have dragged the girl away.

However, police weren't informed of Sherin's disappearance until about five hours later at 8 a.m.

Explaining why Sini, despite having no charges against her, chose to retain an attorney, Starr said that every individual has the right for legal counsel.

Police are still looking for answers as to exactly what happened to Sherin.

"We are expanding our investigation to go out further from the home, trying to get some type of a lead on the vehicles or anything", Perlich said. She was in the house at the time, but was reportedly asleep and unaware of what her husband was doing, Perlich said.

Police say the girl's father, 37-year-old Wesley Mathews, told detectives that he told Sherin to stand by a tree about 100 feet from the family's home because she would not drink her milk. Footage from surveillance cameras in the area also is being reviewed.

"We don't have any other indication or evidence that she was forcibly abducted from that area", Perlich said.

Mathews was arrested on charges of endangering a child but released after posting bail.

Sherin is described as three feet tall and weighs 22 pounds, she has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a pink top, black pajama bottoms and pink flip-flops.

Williams is said to have developmental issues such as limited verbal communication skills. Wesley and his wife Sini Mathews are natives of Kerala and had adopted Sherin from an orphanage in India in July previous year.

He said he often woke her up to eat so that her weight would increase. Investigators are also now reviewing footage from surveillance cameras, cellphones and laptops to try to determine the whereabouts of the child.
