New broke on Twitter, evoking Morgan's famous nickname for his co-star: "Get excited Baby Girls!"

Shemar Moore, star of CBS's new drama S.W.A.T, returns to his old stomping grounds on the October 25 episode of Criminal Minds.

Shemar Moore's return comes just a few months after he reprised the role as Morgan for the season 12 finale; meanwhile, it also comes one week before the premiere of his new series SWAT airing on CBS Thursday nights. He left the show last March after 11 seasons and 252 episodes. In the new Criminal Minds episode, Morgan returns to help Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) deal with a case that has affected her emotionally.

Of his decision to depart Criminal Minds, Moore says, "It was a blind leap, but I believed in me and I was hungry".

On Nov. 2, Moore will begin playing Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson, a Los Angeles-born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant tasked with running the specialized tactical unit.

If a story really needs to involve Morgan, the possibility and precedent is there for S.W.A.T. and Criminal Minds to work out the actor's schedule.

That said, he admitted the door to the BAU was never totally closed. His new drama, which is an update of the '70s police drama, debuts November 2 on CBS.

Criminal Minds season 13 airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on CBS.
