This week's NXT featured Lio Rush's in-ring debut plus a baig main-event matchup as Johnny Gargano took on Andrade "Cien" Almas.

Cross was the real star of the match, outshining both of her opponents and being at center of the Conti controversy, which will nearly certainly earn her reconsideration for the fourth spot in the upcoming title bout.

Peyton Royce vs. Nikki Cross vs.

We are at Full Sail University and your announcers are Percy Watson, Mauro Ranallo, and Nigel McGuinness. Liv out and finally, Nikki, who heads to the ring without any other members of Sanity. Nikki turns her attention to Liv, throwing her face first into the turnbuckle before jumping on her back to lock in a body scissors.

We are back and Gargano blocks a kick but he misses the rolling kick. Liv has something to say to Peyton as well.

Morgan and Cross dispatched of Royce early before the unstable Cross trapped Morgan in a sleeper.

Billie Kay tries to interject herself in the match and gets blasted off the apron by Nikki. Here's how the match went down and what's up next for the women's stars. We already know that Kairi Sane will be in that match, and this week's broadcast of NXT saw a qualification match pitting Liv Morgan, Peyton Royce and Nikki Cross against each other with the victor joining that match at TakeOver.

Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish come out with Taynara Conti and they tell her to go to the ring. Cross gets in Royce's face. Nikki hits a neck break on Peyton, goes for a pin, only two. Conti heads to the ring, distracts Cross and Royce rolls her up for 2. Royce is back in to yell at Morgan before kicking her down without too much effort. I absolutely loved the whole portrayal of Rush here and it begun perfectly with Lio immediately slapping the Dream across the face. Rush avoids Dream and then hits an enzuigiri that sends Dream into the turnbuckles. Crowd goes nuts for that initial sequence. Dream cuts him off and hits a lariat and clubbing strikes. Dream with a backbreaker, pin, two. Commentary is having fun with this match. Dream mounted some offense and hit his Purple Rain Maker finisher for the win.

Rush shows a ton of ability, but he unable to end his debut victorious.

- Recap from two weeks ago of Lars Sullivan beating down Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch coming out to help Lorcan.

Lars Sullivan defeated Danny Burch. To further take action, Burch challenged Sullivan to this match. Burch with another punch, but Sullivan ends up dropping him in a hurry. Sullivan took nearly all the offense and, again, was never taken off his feet by any offensive move given to him. Burch up on his shoulders, but Burch fights off and lands some big chops and European uppercuts. Sullivan with the elevated spinebuster slam for the three count.

- Recap of Roderick Strong and Drew McIntyre's NXT Championship match from last week. Cue the Undisputed Era of all people with Taynara Conti from the Mae Young Classic. Cross sits Morgan on the top rope. Dawkins tags in and Ford flips over Smith. Ford freaks out as he goes around ringside.

- Next week, it will be Sonya Deville vs.

This week's episode of NXT appropriately looks towards the future of the bran while building the card for NXT TakeOver: War Games. This momentary distraction allowed Almas to escape the Gargano Escape. Gargano was on top of his game here as even when Almas would do something like counter Gargano's slingshot spear, Johnny Wrestling would backdrop him over the top rope. Gargano with a flying headscissors then snaps Alams' arm over his shoulder. Cross attacks Morgan from behind.

Gargano's troubles continue, as he can't seem to win the big ones. He then drives Gargano to the apron as we head to break.
