The Saints typically use three safeties in their nickel package, which means Vaccaro will match up with Tate when the Lions deploy him as their slot receiver.

Stafford's streak of consecutive games is in stark contrast to what he went through in his first two years after being drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in 2009. Im not buying into the Saints defense just yet, and with Matt Stafford at QB, its a good bet that the Lions will rally in the 4th quarter if they are down. Detroit hit, hurried or sacked Drew 42 times.

Detroit got beat on the stat sheet last time out, and its one turnover led directly to a Panthers field goal, which in the end provided the deciding margin. The Saints have given up at least 119 yards on the ground in three of the four games they've played this year, so the Lions could be in for a big day rushing.

In his second game after returning, he injured the same shoulder again and was done for the season. He was then with the Lions past year and remembers how confident Detroit became when the defense forced the Saints into a three-and-out to open the game because it quickly quieted the crowd.

In 2015, he went 22-of-25 for 254 yards and three TDs, almost posting a flawless passer rating at the Superdome. New Orleans ranks 21st in the National Football League, averaging 94 yards rushing per game. He's done that about 63 percent of the time this season, a number that should rise against New Orleans.

The truth is, a lot of quarterbacks have had success against New Orleans of late. They are two of the best at their respective positions, and this matchup could play a big role in the outcome of this game.

"Bottom line is he is a great player and I know this: You go into a game against a team like this and a quarterback like this, you know that the game's never over", Brees said. I think he is a good teammate. While Peterson's brief tenure with the Saints never lived up to its hype, there was some potential that he could finally break out and get over 50 yards in a game. The Saints won their last two games on the road at Carolina and at Miami after an 0-and-2 start.

They're 29th in that department this season, but their past couple of games have been better.

"We kind of went through the history, and we talked about the advantages of playing at home and some of the distractions or challenges when you play at home". "We want to try to affect the quarterback. He's a talented guy that's going to rack up some yardage and points against any and everybody", Detroit coach Jim Caldwell said.
