This is a big ask considering the 32GB iPhone 7 is priced at Rs 49000 officially and Rs 38999 via Amazon India and Flipkart at the moment. The monthly instalments include the postpaid connection benefits that the telecom major is bundling along with the device. After the downpayment, the customer will have to pay an EMI of INR 2499 per month for the next 24 months.

Similarly, the 128GB iPhone 7 can be availed at Rs 16,300, the 32GB iPhone 7 Plus for Rs 17,300, and the 128GB iPhone 7 Plus 26,000, all of which come with the Rs 2,499 monthly installment cum postpaid plan. That said, the built-in monthly instalments also come bundled with a postpaid data plan, that offers unlimited voice calls (including local, STD, and national roaming), 30GB high-speed data, and Airtel Secure subscription covering the device against any physical damage. The first couple of devices on the docket are the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in its 32GB and 128GB avatars.

The operator has partnered with Apple Inc., HDFC Bank, Clix Capital, Seynse Technologies, Brightstar Telecommunications and Vulcan Express to enable the process including finance as well as possession of the device through its digital store. Airtel also gives an offer to pay the whole remaining amount at once, by paying 6% charges on the remaining principle. In a statement, Airtel said that it plans to invest up to Rs 2,000 crore under Project Next.

Airtel has opened the Online Store as a part of its Project Next. Imagine getting your dream device, instant credit to purchase it and a great plan to go with it, all available in one place with a few clicks.

Harmeen Mehta, Global CIO & Director - Engineering, Bharti Airtel said, "This is yet another exciting digital innovation from Airtel to delight customers".
