Leaked: 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Owner's Manual/User Guide

The JL Wrangler Forums website has obtained what is allegedly a digital copy of it along with the user guide, and they both look authentic.

The biggest news is about the new power sliding top that makes it even easier to have the essential open top fun in the Wrangler.

You can't own the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler yet, but its owner's manual can be read online. There is also a power sliding top that is not removable, but the rear quarter windows can be taken off.

As the rumor mill starts spinning and new spyshots of camouflaged next-generation Jeep Wrangler mules surface, a new document sheds some light onto what kind of punch will the new Wrangler JL pack.

The rest of the owner's manual does give a few close ups of the new Wrangler, showing things like its 8.4-inch infotainment system and details about servicing the 2.0L and 3.6L engines. No details are given on aspiration or cylinder count, but we can safely guess the 3.6-liter is the ubiquitous Pentastar V-6 available in the current Wrangler, and the 2.0-liter is the rumored "Hurricane" turbocharged four-cylinder. The 2.0-liter recommends premium fuel, while the 3.6-liter only needs 87 octane. Plus the interior will also be a bit more luxurious with items like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Inside, it's also similar to the current-generation auto, although there's a choice between 7.0in and 8.4in infotainment displays.

As with the current-generation Wrangler, the 2018 vehicle will get both two and four-door variants. Models with a five-mode transfer case include both a four-wheel drive auto high range and a four-wheel drive part time high range.

For India, Jeep sells the four-door Wrangler Unlimited with options for both petrol and diesel engines.

The photo that was leaked with the owners manual shows what appears to be a JL Wrangler Rubicon on the Rubicon trail.
