The video is the latest that Woods has posted on social media as he works towards a return to professional golf after a back operation in April.

In his most recent communique from rehab central, Tiger, dressed in his signature final-round red and black, posted on social media a video of himself taking a pretty good cut with a driver. He has captioned the post with "making progress" to fuel speculation Woods could be close to a playing comeback.

"Overall, I'm very optimistic how I'm progressing, " Woods said on September 27 before the Presidents Cup.

At the time, ESPN quoted the 41-year-old saying: "I don't know what my future holds for me". Like I said, the pain's gone, but I don't know what my golfing body is going to be like because I haven't hit a shot yet.

So, yeah, looks like the 14-time major champion is preparing to give it another go. "And there's no rush". It's a process, and I'm in no hurry.

Woods has not played a single game since a fruitless return ended in February this year after a poor show at first round in the Dubai Desert Classic. Then, basically, just as I said, just keep waiting for what my surgeon says. "But I certainly don't have my golf muscles trained because obviously I'm not doing anything golf-related". But after four back surgeries, we can definitely enjoy watching Tiger hit one with the big stick.
