Game of Thrones star Lena Headey accuses Weinstein of harassment

Many actresses have come forward with stories of encounters with Weinstein, either on their own or through exposés in papers like The New York Times or The New Yorker, including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowen, Ashley Judd, Asia Argento, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Green, Heather Graham, Rosanna Arquette, Mira Sorvino, and many more. I was genuinely shocked.

But Headey says she had a much more serious encounter with Weinstein at a hotel years later. She presumed it that it was a professional meeting to talk about potential work as she had "laughed and said never in a million years" to his previous overtures. The conversation continues on Twitter, where actress Alyssa Milano suggested that women who have suffered sexual assault and harassment write "Me too". I got into my auto and I cried.

The British actress posted a series of tweets in which she detailed meetings between the two where the Hollywood mogul allegedly made "suggestive" comments towards her and became enraged after she rejected his advances. No one should ever, ever have to stay silent for fear of losing their livelihood, and the fact that Weinstein held his power over countless women's heads is unconscionable. The two met for breakfast and then Weinstein invited her to his hotel room in order to show her a script, according to Headey.

"He went to the loo".

"My whole body went into high alert", Headey said, "And I said to Harvey, I'm not interested in anything other that work, please don't think I got in here with you for any other reason".

"We walked to the lift and the energy shifted", she said. "I don't know what possessed me to speak out at that moment, only that I had such a strong sense of don't come near me". "I got into my auto and I cried", she says. Furious. We got out of the lift and walked to his room. "His hand was on my back, he was marching me forward, not a word, I felt completely powerless".

After marching her out to the auto park, Lena recalls Weinstein telling her not to tell her manager or agent about their exhange. As he took her to a auto he whispered in her ear, "Don't tell anyone about this, not your manager, not your agent". "Not your manager, not your agent.' I got into my auto and cried".

Weinstein was sacked last week by the film production company he helped create.
