Macy's open on Thanksgiving 2017: Will you shop on Thanksgiving?

Macy's will once again open on Thanksgiving Day this year, BestBlackFriday.com has learned. Some stores that closed past year, but have not announced their intentions for this Thanksgiving include Barnes & Noble, Target, REI, and Talbots.

"Macy's will open our full-line department stores at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 23, to serve our customers who want to begin their holiday shopping Thanksgiving Day", Macy's said in a statement provided to ABC.

The website confirmed with six stores across the country that Macy's will open at 5 p.m.

Deptford Mall in Deptford, New Jersey: 5 p.m. Thanksgiving to 10 p.m.

Cherry Hill Mall - Cherry Hill, New Jersey - Thanksgiving 5 p.m.to 10 p.m.

Houston Galleria at Hidalgo - Houston, Texas - Thanksgiving 5 p.m.to 10 p.m.


South Hills Village Mall - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Thanksgiving 5 p.m.to 10 p.m. Macy's previously opened at 6 p.m.in 2015 and 2014.

Though, the topic remains fairly controversial, with "Boycott Shopping on Thanksgiving Day" groups gaining a following on Facebook.

Nordstrom, Neiman-Marcus, Dillard's and Marshall's are among the department stores that will remain closed on Thanksgiving.

After eating the traditional Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing, Macy's will be at the ready to cash in on Black Friday shoppers.
