On Tuesday, Minaj shared a video of her XXL interview, which features the quote that was taken out of context. "Imagine me saying I made female rappers mainstream when there were so many women who already had platinum albums under their belts". "So, my role was reintroducing the female rapper to pop culture". It doesn't get more mainstream/pop than Missy's biggest singles.

"I kind of love that I've had to go through so many hurdles to get where I am because I feel like I deserve it", she said. The hype around this nameless project is so real that even The New York Times' T Magazine wanted the tea.

"Sometimes I wake up and say, 'I don't know if I can do this anymore, ' you know?" she said. "I don't know if she should've said it herself..."

Nicki Minaj is considered one of the greatest female rappers of all time after breaking through the male-dominated hip-hop scene with her wordplay, sexual magnetism and perseverance.

Elsewhere in her Instagram post, Minaj reiterated her thoughts on the inactivity of female rappers when she debuted.

I see ppl remixing my words so let me post "exactly" what I said for the intelligent ones in the back. "Showed big business we were major players in the game just like the boys were". "This is definitely the most inspired and free and excited I've been since I started releasing albums through a label". But, if you ask the Trinidadian beauty, "the social media band wagon era" needs to fine tune their comprehension skills. This album is everything in my life coming full circle and me being truly, genuinely happy. I can't believe this lil interview made it to tv. "See u guys on tour next year". "There wasn't a big female rap presence right before I got in".
