Oliver name-drops Bruce Wayne in Arrow season 6 clip

The premiere ended with Oliver Queen being revealed as Green Arrow in the news and the upcoming episode will show viewers how he will deal with this matter.

After the events of last week's episode, "Fallout", the people of Star City begin to suspect that mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is actually the Green Arrow. Also featured in the images are DC Comics villain Onyx (Chastity Dotson) and Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Watson (GLOW's Sydelle Noel), who, after Oliver Queen was outed in the Season Premiere, will still be trying to prove that the mayor is the Green Arrow following this week's episode, "Tribute". Ollie nonchalantly brushes off the accusations by boldly deeming the image photoshopped. and offering an alternate billionaire playboy that could've been 'shopped into the image instead: Bruce Wayne. "Has Bruce Wayne left Gotham to hang out in Star City recently?"

Arrow season 6, episode 2 will be premiering later tonight, 9pm EST on the CW. In the process, he brings in or rather throws in another superhero in the picture.

There have been previous references to Wayne and Gotham City on The Flash and Supergirl, but a new clip (below) from this week's Arrow calls out Wayne by name. Obviously that's never going to happen, but perhaps someone will play Bruce Wayne at some point during Season 6. But this really is the first time someone's actually gotten to say "Bruce Wayne" aloud.

Given how integral Batman is to the DC film universe right now (you guys see the latest Justice League trailer?) it's pretty impossible to hope that Bruce would ever make his way into the Arrowverse beyond a name drop like this. There has been no official confirmation on this as yet.

Arrow airs Thursdays at 9/8 on The CW.
