The Englishman has also given his take on Rafael Benitez's side's Premier League match against Crystal Palace at St. James' Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Newcastle United winger has started all but one of the club's league games this season.

There will be nearly 51,000 Newcastle fans (Palace took less than half the available allocation), two very good performances and decent results against Liverpool and Southampton, Rafa taking the team to ninth place (two points off fifth), and of course the Mike Ashley news/circus this week. "I'm four games into what I consider my season with the club and I think it's very important that we don't start thinking that there are epiphany moments".

"I wouldn't want to do that, that would be something really for the medical department", Hodgson said. I know my level, so I need to keep working hard and try to help the team.

"I was getting treatment during the global break", he said.

"I was delighted for him, it was a good performance especially having been out for six weeks".

"It was unlucky that we drew 2-2. Now we are focused on the next game", Atsu told the Chronicle.

"It was hard. We knew they would have more possession, but we wanted to hit them on the counter".

"It showed that we were a threat to them throughout the game".

They did however pull off the shock of the season thus far by claiming a 2-1 victory against Chelsea last week.

"We will keep fighting and try to attack teams, ' he added".

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson believes Christian Benteke is set to return from a knee injury "ahead of schedule" but admits he is uncertain how that schedule looks exactly.
