When legal problems threatened to end his stay with Real Madrid, Arsène Wenger wasn't perturbed.

Karim Benzema's agent has confirmed that the French striker is happy at Real Madrid and has no intention of leaving the back-to-back Champions League winners, amid interest from Arsenal.

Arsenal will not be able to sign Karim Benzema from Real Madrid in the January transfer window after the Frenchman's agent insisted his client is going nowhere.

The 29-year-old is now tied down in Spain's capital until 2021.

Benzema continues to be linked with an exit from the Bernabeu with Real five points off the pace in the Liga title race.

'He signed a contract extension last month and has absolutely no intention of leaving the club'.

Although Benzema has had 20 shots on goal, only two of them ended up in the back of the net (one in the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona, and the other in LaLiga against Getafe).

The France worldwide clocked up 76 minutes in Real Madrid's 1-1 Champions League draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night. Despite his profligacy, Benzema remains the undisputed first-choice striker.
