Jeremy Lin has successful surgery on right knee

Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin had surgery to fix a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee, the National Basketball Association team said Friday.

The procedure was performed Friday morning at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY. Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The Nets, who said Thursday that they expected Lin to miss the rest of the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season, said he is expected to make a full recovery. The Nets reiterated that in Friday's update, but added that Lin is expected to make a full recovery. In the photo, which appears to have been taken following the surgery, Lin's right knee is wrapped and in a brace.

Lin was hurt Wednesday during the Nets' first game of the season when he landed hard after a drive to the basket in the fourth quarter of a 140-131 loss to Indiana. Foreal Ive been blown away w the support!

Lin, who has also played for the New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors over his career, signed a three-year deal with the Nets in summer of 2016.

The Pacers are completely new team from last season with a total of 10 new players.
