Cesc Fabregas could be Chelsea's only fit senior midfielder for Saturday's Premier League game against Watford, head coach Antonio Conte has confirmed.

2016/17 - Chelsea 4 Watford 3 - Three days after winning the league, John Terry's last Blues goal plus strikes from Cesar Azpilicueta, Michy Batshuayi and a late Cesc Fabregas victor kept the party going.

The Blues are going through something an injury crisis, with the likes of N'Golo Kante, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater among those ruled out for Saturday's clash with Watford. "They have enthusiasm. But we play at home after two defeats in the league, and we want to come back to win". Maybe for this reason we are having trouble.

Michy Batshuayi scored in both meetings with Watford last season - the only side he's scored home and away against in the competition. When you play every three days it's impossible to work above all on the physical aspects. I repeat. I have experience, a lot of experience, as a player and as a coach of facing this type of situations.

"I was a magician to anticipate these problems, honestly, ' Conte said, puffing out his cheeks as he considered the state of a squad he says are working '70 per cent less" in training compared to last season due to their increased number of games.

Combined with the intense training sessions, things could go from bad to worse for Antonio Conte, but there is still more than enough time to make a change.

Conte says he is unwilling to rush Drinkwater into action too quickly but had a more positive update on Kante, with the France worldwide now expected to return before the next global break at the beginning of November.

"I hope to have him back very soon, before the global break", he added.

"There are many (injury) doubts", Conte said.

"I think we are paying less attention in every detail".

"When I go to my house I'm happy because I know in every moment I put all myself in my job for this club, for the fans, for my players".
