His final project is Phantom Thread, and the first official trailer has just dropped. With his latest film, Paul Thomas Anderson paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, and the women who keep his world running.

A screengrab from upcoming period drama "Phantom Thread" that stars Daniel Day-Lewis. The film is already garnering Oscar buzz, and Day-Lewis won his second of three Oscars for "There Will Be Blood". You can watch the trailer below. The film is released in Irish cinemas February 2, 2018. I'm sure the Oscar nominations will come pouring in for this one.

Set in the glamour of 1950s post-war London, Phantom Thread follows a renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville), who are at the centre of the British fashion industry, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutants and dames.

The movie is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who has also co-produced and written the film. Infatuated with her, she quickly becomes a fixture as his muse and lover, but his his carefully tailored life becomes disrupted by love. And Phantom Thread looks like the kind of movie that will challenge it cast and potentially movie-goers as well, as explained in the synopsis below.

Incredibly acted with a high caliber director, and if that's not enough, the soundtrack has music by Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead.
